About the position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Surgical Recovery at Adventist Health White Memorial is responsible for delivering coordinated nursing care to patients in a surgical recovery setting. This role involves supervising nursing staff, collaborating with healthcare teams, and ensuring patient safety and well-being through critical thinking and professional judgment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care.
- Supervise and direct the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff.
- Coordinate care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking and professional discretion.
- Collect and analyze relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
- Develop and implement care plans that prescribe interventions to attain desired outcomes.
- Evaluate patient progress toward attaining outcomes and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to provide safe and effective patient care.
- Provide learning opportunities for patients and family members regarding health information and care processes.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Delegate appropriately and coordinate duties of healthcare team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice required.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Acute care facility experience preferred.
