About the position
The RN Registered Nurse - PACU position at Williamson Health involves planning, implementing, and evaluating pre- and post-anesthesia patient care in a timely and accurate manner. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments on all patients upon admission.
- Plan individualized patient care based on identified problems and nursing diagnoses.
- Collaborate with surgical team members to coordinate patient care delivery.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with hospital policies.
- Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reassess patient conditions and modify care plans as necessary.
- Maintain a therapeutic environment for patients and families.
- Facilitate staff development and assist in training new staff.
- Maintain personal work area and appearance to reflect professionalism.
Requirements
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
- Licensed in the state of Tennessee.
- Must respond to hospital within thirty minutes for 'on call' requirements.
- ACLS certification required prior to taking call.
- One year experience in PACU Phase 1 or 2, CCU, or Emergency Room.
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- PALS certification within 90 days of hire.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in perioperative care.
- Ability to work well under pressure and independently.
- Familiarity with standard patient care equipment and hospital computer systems.
