About the position
The Nurse position involves providing both routine and complex care in a clinical setting, demonstrating independence and awareness of various patient needs. The role requires the ability to manage clinical situations effectively, make appropriate assignments, and delegate tasks to other care providers. The Nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate care for assigned patients, while also addressing their psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Administer medications and treatments according to protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to assess the physical, psychosocial, social, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs of patients and families.
- Communicate findings to appropriate healthcare team members and develop specific plans of care.
- Implement patient care and therapeutic procedures, monitoring and documenting treatment progression.
- Evaluate care and treatment provided to patients and their responses.
- Plan for admission, discharge, and transfer needs to facilitate patient flow.
- Educate and train others on operations, ethics, and regulations within the industry.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
- 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- RN License in state of employment or compact.
