Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments on all patients upon admission.
- Plan individualized patient care based on identified problems and needs.
- Conduct patient teaching and plan for discharge and post-discharge needs.
- Function independently with treatments, procedures, and equipment appropriate to the area.
- Handle, transport, store, prepare, and administer medications safely.
- Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reassess patient conditions and modify care plans as necessary.
- Accept charge responsibilities and assign staff based on patient needs.
- Facilitate staff development and maintain a therapeutic environment.
Requirements
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
- Licensed in the State of Tennessee.
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- Basic arrhythmia certification within 6 months of hire for specific units.
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire for specific units.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6 months of hire for specific units.
- AACN, CCRN, or CCP certification within two years of hire for critical care unit.
- ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire for Oncology unit.
- At least one year of emergency experience preferred for Adult Emergency Room.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in pediatric in-hospital care.
- PALS certification within 6 months of hire for pediatric units.
- TNCC certification preferred for emergency units.
