About the position
The Nurse at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - New Braunfels is responsible for providing both routine and complex nursing care in a clinical setting. This role requires independent practice, critical thinking, and the ability to manage various clinical situations effectively. The Nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care while addressing the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families. The position also involves delegating tasks to other care providers and ensuring compliance with clinical policies and standards.
Responsibilities
- Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administers medications and treatments according to protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
- Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
- 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
- RN License in state of employment or compact.
- BLS certification required.
