About The Position

Provide compassionate, high-quality care throughout the continuum of the surgical experience, ensuring safe recovery and optimal outcomes for patients before, during, and after surgery. This position is primarily scheduled from 11am to 7:30pm, with occasional earlier start times based on department needs. Call responsibilities include two weekday call shifts every six weeks, 2-3 weekend call shifts every six months, and one holiday per year. The schedule follows a six-week block rotation, including every Monday and Friday, and alternating Tuesdays and Thursdays. The position is scheduled for six 8-hour shifts per pay period, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts as needed. A Day in the Life of an RN-Perianesthesia As a Perianesthesia Nurse, you'll provide expert pre- and post-operative care, ensuring a smooth patient journey through surgery while adhering to ASPAN standards for safety, quality, and care. You'll monitor patient status vigilantly, responding swiftly to any changes, and collaborate closely with the surgical team for coordinated care. Your role includes maintaining accurate documentation, educating patients, and providing follow-up care to empower recovery. You'll also participate in quality improvement, team training, and ongoing professional development to stay current with the latest in nursing practices and patient care. About the Perianesthesia Department Expert Pre & Post-Operative Care The Perianesthesia team at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center plays a critical role in ensuring safe, high-quality care for surgical patients. From preoperative preparation to post-anesthesia recovery, we provide expert monitoring, pain management, and patient support during key transition points in the surgical process. Our team's reassuring presence ensures patients emerge from anesthesia safely and comfortably, setting the stage for a smooth recovery. We also play an instrumental role in admissions, discharges, outpatient procedures, patient education, and continuous quality improvement. Requirements

  • 1 year of RN experience
  • American Heart Association ACLS within 4 months of hire
  • American Heart Association BLS certification within 30 days of hire
  • PALS certification within 4 months of hire
  • Current Minnesota RN license

Nice To Haves

  • Providing care to similar patient populations with varying levels of severity, including critical care nursing experience.
  • 2-3 years of direct patient care, critical care nursing experience strongly preferred
