About the position

The RN in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is responsible for providing and coordinating direct care to patients across various age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. This role involves managing patients whose needs are between those requiring intensive care and those that can be handled on general medical floors. The position emphasizes professional growth, commitment to service, and adherence to Hamilton Medical Center's mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the Progressive Care Unit.
  • Coordinate care for assigned patients with various illnesses and diseases.
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Demonstrate professional growth and development in nursing practice.
  • Commit to the mission, values, and professionalism of Hamilton Medical Center.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Georgia RN or multi-state license meeting eNLC criteria.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS, CCRN, and CPI preferred.
  • One or more years of nursing experience required.
  • Completion of a Critical Care Course/Internship preferred.
  • Proficient nursing skills as defined in the Law Governing the Practice of Nursing in Georgia.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Completion of Progressive Care Unit care skills check-off.
