The Outpatient Surgery Center (OSC) is located in the lower level of the UofL Healthcare Outpatient Center (HCOC). The OSC is comprised of four Operating Rooms, two Endoscopy Rooms, one minor procedure room and eighteen bays used for Preop, Pre-Procedure, PACU (Phase I and Phase II), Post Procedure and Discharge. The center provides services to outpatients as well as patients requiring a post operative admission or observation requiring a hospital bed as the center is connected by pedway to the ACB which is connected by pedway to the hospital. The OSC also provides three bays with six chairs dedicated to Infusion services. The center schedules patients for procedures Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 am and 3:00 pm but remains open until all patients meet discharge criteria, discharged home or transported to an inpatient bed.

Requirements

  • Licensed or eligible for license in Kentucky
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required for some units
  • Associates's degree from accredited college or University
