About The Position

The Operations Training Specialist develops, reviews, and implements training materials across facilities that will improve the productivity and function of CorrHealth. This team member assists in preparing facilities to meet state, federal, and accreditation standards. This position also requires involvement in special projects to include filling in for any and all shifts as facility needs require. Weekly travel, up to 80% between all states we operate in. Must reside in NM, TX, CO or WY.

Requirements

  • Current RN licensure, in good standing
  • 1-2 years of teaching/training/audit or educator experience
  • One year of specialized experience in an administrative, clerical management, or supervisory position in the health care field. Work must have involved (i) a close working relationship with facility members, (ii) analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities, and (iii) provided knowledge of regulations, requirements, and standards across an assortment of supervisory groups in various administrative areas
  • Must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, licensing, etc. for this position
  • Must have current CPR/BLS certification
  • Must have current TB test (taken within one year)
  • Must adhere to all facility policies and procedures as well as the policies and procedures listed in the Employee Handbook
  • Willing to assist coworkers in the job duties and work overtime if required; may act as a resource to other coworkers
  • Maintains confidentiality, dignity, and security of health records and protected health information in compliance with HIPAA requirements
  • Must undergo security training and orientation on facility safety policies and procedures
  • Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test (as applicable)

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) years minimum correctional experience preferred
  • BSN or Master's in nursing strongly preferred
  • Current BLS certification

Responsibilities

  • Develops clinical, technical, and workflow training materials as needed
  • Performs, at minimum, monthly visits to contracted facilities to assess training programs
  • Travels to contracted facilities to conduct training for all operational and clinical staff members as required annually
  • Works with HSA to ensure all compliance standards are being met
  • Assists with CQI initiatives, including the development of required training to ensure all counties meet/exceed CQI standards
  • Completes mock audits and assists facilities in preparation for accreditation (NCCHC, ACA)
  • Fill in for absent HSAs when on vacation or for any unforeseen circumstances
  • Trains and coaches managers, supervisors, and others involved in employee development efforts
  • Develops and maintains organizational communications, such as intranet bulletin boards and newsletters, to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources
  • Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization
  • Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR staff
  • Participates in special projects, as assigned
