About the position

The Emergency Services Nursing Supervisor position at University Hospital in Madison, WI, is a critical role that involves overseeing the daily operations of the Emergency Department (ED). In this role, the Nursing Supervisor acts as a clinical resource for the staff, ensuring that nursing care is delivered in accordance with UW Health's established standards. Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the Emergency Department (ED).
  • Plan, direct, and evaluate patient and family care.
  • Communicate and collaborate with ED staff, nursing leadership, medical staff, case management, social work, and multiple departments.
  • Act as a clinical resource to staff and ensure nursing care is provided within established standards of care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent combination of education and experience (must be enrolled in a BSN program with completion within 24 months of hire).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant clinical, ED, transport, or Charge RN experience.
  • Demonstrated progressive leadership experience.
  • Registered Nurse license in the state of Wisconsin.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Five (5) or more years of relevant experience in clinical practice preferred.
  • Management, supervisory, or charge RN experience with demonstrated success preferred.
  • Certification in relevant specialty area preferred.
