Organization: Progressive Care Unit Job Summary: Responsible for planning, organizing, and administering patient care within the scope of his/her training and expertise, collaborating with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes is met. This is done in conjunction with the objectives and policies of the hospital and the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Tennessee. . Hours of Position: 7p-7a, 36 hours/week $10k Sign-on Bonus for eligible candidates (current employees and candidates who have worked at Vanderbilt within the last year are not eligible.) The Progressive Care Unit is located on the 3rd floor at Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital (VTHH). It’s a 19 bed unit with a typical Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4 and the assistance of a Patient Care Technician/Certified Nurse Assistant. We are located on the third floor at Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital (VTHH). The environment on our unit is focused on teamwork, excellent patient care, and welcoming new team members. We care for adult patients who are being treated for a variety of medical diagnoses. Our patients are unique because of their diverse medical needs. One of the perks of working on our unit is we get to work with such a diverse amount of medical diagnoses and work closely with our local cardiologist to care for these amazing patients. Our nurses are successful because they have strong assessment and communication skills, excellent focus on teamwork, and trust in themselves and their teammates. We orient new nurses to our unit through six weeks of unit-specific orientation with a designated preceptor and skills days focusing on skills used on our unit. WE ENCOURAGE PROFESSIONAL GROWTH.
