About the position
Baylor Scott & White Temple is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Level One Neuro ICU Department. This role involves overseeing patient care in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment, focusing on patient assessment, care planning, and education. The position supports professional growth through structured training and certification opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed clinical assessments of patients.
- Prioritize patient and family needs in care planning.
- Create, implement, and evaluate care plans based on patient responses.
- Educate patients, families, and community members on healthcare choices.
- Delegate tasks to healthcare team members and follow up on their completion.
- Utilize problem-solving strategies to address patient and family needs.
- Recognize limitations and prioritize safety and effectiveness in patient care.
- Contribute to the development of peers and demonstrate community service commitment.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current and valid nursing license.
- BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of starting.
- 1 year of ICU RN experience required.
- Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards.
- Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and common medications.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical documentation.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a Level One Trauma Center.
