This is a Full Time Days position for a Registered Nurse in the Mother and Baby department at Atrium Health Union. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Key responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The position requires continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, with action taken as needed. Administration of medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols is expected. Effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution are crucial for fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation. The role also emphasizes pursuing professional development, completing required education, and maintaining certifications, while adhering to ethical practices and respecting interdisciplinary roles. Appropriate delegation to other nursing staff and accurate, timely EHR documentation are essential. The nurse may be required to float to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs. The position requires the ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, including understanding the principles of growth and development over the life span and assessing data reflective of patient status to identify age-specific needs.
