Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to assess resident care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes related to nursing care.
- Assist with team conferences to develop individualized nursing care plans; assess and document residents' condition and nursing needs.
- Implement physician's orders; administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests.
- Communicate effectively and positively with staff, residents, and family members.
- Notify Clinical Manager, attending physicians, and family members of significant changes in a resident's condition, and take follow-up action as necessary.
- Manage medications, supplies, and equipment including ordering, receiving, storing, and disposing of all items in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Document treatments as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
- Coordinate nursing care of residents scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.
- Record and report observations and reactions regarding residents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid RN/LPN license in the State of Iowa
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience or equivalent of education and experience
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in medication administration
- Basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company software
