About the position

PeaceHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Florence, Oregon. This per diem night shift position requires a commitment to providing safe, evidence-based, and compassionate care to patients. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care needs, while also ensuring compliance with established standards and hospital policies. The RN will work independently with advanced treatments and procedures, contributing to a positive patient and family-centered environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.
• Document patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
• Direct and delegate care to other team members based on their education and competence.
• Ensure professional effectiveness through ongoing education and development.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of hospital policies, procedures, and quality improvement programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• One year RN experience required: adult critical care experience OR 400 hours in ICU as a nursing student within the last 12 months OR successful completion of PHH ICU training program.
• State of Oregon nursing license required.
• Basic Life Support certification required upon hire.
• ACLS certification required according to Resuscitation Training Completion Requirements policy.
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications required within 12 months of hire/transfer date.
• PALS certification required within 6 months of hire or transfer.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of age-specific principles of growth and development.
• Basic computer skills.
