About the position
The RN House Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Surgery, Medical Surgical, and Emergency Departments. This role involves coordinating with nursing managers to ensure compliance with regulations and effective day-to-day operations. The position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to promote patient-centered care and maintain high standards of nursing practice.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day operations of the Surgery, Medical Surgical, and Emergency Departments.
- Oversee staffing patterns and evaluate shift operations for potential issues.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration in decision-making processes.
- Support organizational and unit action plans related to nursing services and patient care.
- Evaluate and implement goals and objectives in alignment with administrative goals.
- Provide general direction and supervision for staff on assigned shifts.
- Assist in scheduling surgical and outpatient medical procedures.
- Promote a culture of safety and quality care within the organization.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a BSN.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
- Minimum of 5 years of RN experience in an acute care setting.
- Demonstrated administrative and supervisory ability.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practice.
- Additional education in management principles and teaching is preferred.
