In the Float Pool, you will work with diverse populations of patients in numerous units, departments and/or locations while learning from many of our best caregivers. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional support, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system has numerous professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills. This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working days/evenings/nights/weekends between 7:00 a.m. -- 7:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. -- 7:30 a.m. On-call coverage may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS American Red Cross Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of hire
  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Previous experience as an RN in the ICU or a critical care unit
  • Two years of experience in patient care

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
