About the position

PeaceHealth is seeking a RN - Emergency Department for a Full Time, 0.90 FTE, Night position. Our Emergency and Trauma Center is a 48-bed Level II Trauma Center. Board-certified emergency physicians care for injured patients 24 hours a day. Anyone experiencing trauma, medical problems, emergent or non-urgent needs, receives the best care possible. This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting. Hiring bonus and relocation assistance may be available.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.
  • Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
  • Directs and delegates care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
  • Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
  • Participates in the development of and maintains established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing (Required)
  • Minimum one year of recent Emergency experience or currently oriented and can provide care independently within the department (Required)
  • Registered Nurse (Required)
  • Basic Life Support (Required Upon Hire)
  • ACLS according to Resuscitation Training Completion Requirements policy (Required)
  • ENPC and TNCC within 12 months of hire or transfer date (Required)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs (Required)
  • Basic computer skills (Required)

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Preferred)
  • Specialty certification (Preferred)
