About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) / Renal for an exciting Travel or Local job in Cincinnati, OH. This is an 8-week contract assignment with a night shift schedule, working 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts, 3 days a week. The role involves providing direct nursing care to renal, transplant, and med-surg patients, including those undergoing kidney transplant recovery and peritoneal dialysis. The nurse will also monitor patients on telemetry, manage complex medical-surgical conditions, administer medications and IV therapies, and support clinical research protocols. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and patient/family education are key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Active Ohio RN License or Compact State RN License
  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
  • Minimum Diploma in Nursing (BSN preferred)
  • Strong medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
  • Ability to manage renal and transplant patient populations
  • Comfort with dialysis procedures preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced inpatient environment
  • Experience in nephrology, renal, or transplant nursing preferred
  • Experience with peritoneal dialysis (manual and cycler) preferred
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring preferred
  • Strong patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
  • Ability to adapt to varied patient acuity levels

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to renal, transplant, and med-surg patients
  • Care for kidney transplant patients through all phases of recovery
  • Administer and manage peritoneal dialysis (manual and cycler methods)
  • Monitor patients on telemetry (up to 8 beds remote monitoring)
  • Assess and manage complex medical-surgical conditions
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered
  • Support participation in clinical research protocols under nephrology guidance
  • Collaborate with transplant surgeons, nephrologists, and clinical teams
  • Educate patients and families on renal disease and transplant care
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow hospital protocols
  • Adhere to ANA standards and Ohio Nurse Practice Act
