About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking an RN – CVICU for an exciting Travel or Local job in Cincinnati, OH. This is an 8-week contract with a high possibility of extension or permanent placement. The role involves working in the ICU Float Pool, covering MICU, SICU, and CVICU. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized nursing care for critically ill patients, managing post-operative cardiovascular surgery patients, monitoring advanced cardiac devices, administering medications, hemodynamic monitoring, and invasive line management. The position also requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, accurate documentation, and adherence to evidence-based practices and patient safety initiatives. Culturally competent and age-specific patient and family-centered care is expected.

Requirements

  • Minimum experience in ICU/CVICU or related critical care specialty required
  • Strong critical thinking and advanced patient assessment skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to adapt to floating between MICU, SICU, and CVICU units
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional nursing standards
  • Diploma in Nursing from an accredited nursing program
  • Active Ohio RN License or Compact RN License
  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS Certification (American Heart Association)

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for critically ill patients
  • Provide direct patient care in CVICU, MICU, and SICU float pool settings
  • Manage post-operative cardiovascular surgery patients and acute cardiac conditions
  • Monitor and manage advanced cardiac devices including Impella, IABP, ECMO, ventricular assist devices, and continuous dialysis therapies
  • Administer medications, hemodynamic monitoring, and invasive line management
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Support evidence-based nursing practices and patient safety initiatives
  • Provide culturally competent and age-specific patient and family-centered care
