About the position

PeaceHealth is seeking a RN for our CVICU Unit! We offer a collaborative team environment with 24/7 onsite intensivists, meal break nurses, and charge RNs with no patient assignments. Our unit is recognized as a Chest Pain Center and is Stroke Certified, boasting a 5-star CMS rating and an 'A' rating from the Leap Frog Safety scores. This full-time position is for night shifts (12-hour shifts) and offers a competitive salary range of $47.40 - $74.48, with hiring bonuses and relocation assistance available for eligible candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.
  • Document patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
  • Direct and delegate care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
  • Ensure own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
  • Participate in the development of and maintain established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention program.
  • Manage ventriculostomy, EVD, and ICP.
  • Provide nursing care of patients with non-traumatic ICH, non-traumatic SAH, seizures.
  • Provide nursing care of patients post tPA, thrombectomy, aneurysm coiling, carotid artery stenting and intra-cranial stenting.
  • Manage blood pressure abnormalities with parenteral vasoactive agents.
  • Complete complex neurological assessments/scales.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Minimum of six months critical care RN experience (ICU or ED) in an acute care facility within the last five years required, or successful completion of an approved critical care training course/orientation and standard competencies within six months of hire.
  • Required: State of Oregon Nursing License.
  • Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support.
  • Required: ACLS required according to Resuscitation Training Completion Requirements policy.
  • Required: NIHSS and TNCC required within 12 months of hire/transfer date.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Preferred: Minimum of one year RN experience in an Intensive Care unit specializing in Cardiac, Neuro or Trauma.
  • Preferred: Specialty certification.
  • Preferred: CCRN, CSC, SCRN and TCRN.
