About the position
The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. The position is located at Jewish Hospital, OHRR/CVICU, which is a 17-bed Open Heart Recovery & Cardiothoracic ICU that serves patients undergoing various cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures. The unit cares for patients requiring mechanical circulatory support devices and ECMO, among other advanced treatments.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the CVIC/OHRR unit.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions and vital signs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions and post-operative care.
Requirements
- Licensed or eligible for license in Kentucky
- Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required for some units
- Associate's degree from accredited college or University
