About the position

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center - Opening in 2025! When open in early 2025, Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health will be the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years! This teaching hospital will integrate clinical care with existing providers, The George Washington University Hospital, and the Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This clinical integration will establish a robust system of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital will include 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for physician offices, clinics, a community space, a 500-car garage and a helipad for emergency transports. We are seeking an experienced RN Clinical Supervisor - Labor & Delivery (Full Time-Days). Our ideal candidate will provide shift to shift oversight for clinical practice, staffing, patient flow, safety, service, and utilization of resources for daily operations. Maintains the environment of care. Provides care to patients in a competent, capable, caring and efficient manner. The care provided is appropriate to the age of the patients served. Role models organizational values. Provides real-time feedback to staff to improve performance. Leads/Participates in department process improvement to improve projects outcomes. Facilitates employee engagement activities including professional/shared governance participation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide shift to shift oversight for clinical practice, staffing, patient flow, safety, service, and utilization of resources for daily operations.
  • Maintain the environment of care.
  • Provide care to patients in a competent, capable, caring and efficient manner.
  • Ensure care provided is appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Role model organizational values.

Requirements

  • 1 year charge nurse experience.
  • Professional experience that demonstrates ability to understand the clinical practice environment.
  • 2 years clinical nursing experience preferred.
  • Current RN license in District of Columbia required.
  • Certification in specialty preferred.
  • Successful completion of unit specific certifications (PALS, ACLS, NRP certification, etc.).
