About the position

The Educational Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of the Health Center orientation program and on-going educational programs. The Educational Coordinator provides specific orientation for Health Center nursing staff. Ensures residents are treated with respect and dignity and ensures quality care as resident's healthcare needs change. Our team members provide extraordinary care and hold each other accountable. Responsibilities

  • Plan, conduct and evaluate organized orientation and training programs for all newly hired Health Center employees which are scheduled on a regular basis.
  • Plan the annual and monthly Health Center training program calendar in collaboration with other facility management team members.
  • Recruit instructors with expertise in the appropriate discipline to improve and develop skills of clinical employees.
  • Utilizes community resources for training programs.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of training programs for Health Center within the facility to respond to identified problem areas, service quality or to teach new procedures or methods.
  • Maintains appropriate training records and program materials as required by federal and state regulations.
  • Provide specific orientation to Health Center nursing staff including completion of the clinical skills checklist.
  • Monitor the outcome of employee training sessions regarding skills taught and session evaluations.
  • Develop, maintain, and upgrade the standards for policies and procedures for the Training and Development Department.
  • Works as a member of the team. Gets along well with co-workers. Accepts change in a positive manner.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • RN or LPN with a current license in Florida.
  • Two years' experience in geriatric nursing with strong leadership skills required.
  • At least 2 years' experience in training and development.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Can generate a warm, friendly, and caring manner on first impression.
  • Can communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Can pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Nice-to-haves

  • Participation in professional organizations, dealing primarily in geriatrics preferred.
