About the position

The RN Clinical Nurse Critical Care at Wellstar Health System is a vital member of an interdisciplinary team dedicated to providing high-quality, individualized patient care in a clinical environment. This role emphasizes the importance of evidence-based practice, teamwork, and professional development, ensuring that patient needs are met through effective communication and collaboration. The RN is expected to uphold nursing standards and contribute to a culture of safety and excellence in patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the Nursing Process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical care using evidence-based practice.
  • Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care that adapts to the specific characteristics of the patient population.
  • Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care, promoting interdisciplinary communication and a respectful clinical environment.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and support shared governance within the healthcare system.
  • Complete ongoing professional competency assessments and serve as a mentor for other nursing staff.
  • Promote evidence-based practice and participate in nursing research and performance improvement activities.
  • Plan for patient care across the continuum and develop protocols in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor's Degree (BSN) preferred.
  • Valid RN License (Single State or Multi-state Compact) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor or Provisional Certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years direct patient care experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, along with customer service skills.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in critical care nursing.
  • Certification in additional nursing specialties.
