About The Position
We are seeking an experienced RN – Ambulatory for the Upstate Cancer Center – Community location. The RN will provide high-quality outpatient oncology and ambulatory nursing care while performing patient assessments, coordinating treatment plans, administering medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Requirements
- Minimum 1.5 years of recent acute care nursing experience required
- Strong ambulatory nursing and patient assessment skills required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities required
- Ability to function independently in a fast-paced outpatient environment required
- Experience in equal or higher-level hospitals or trauma centers required
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required
- BSN required
- Active New York State RN License required
- BLS Certification required
- Oncology-related certifications and ambulatory oncology experience required
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care within an ambulatory oncology setting
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor patient conditions
- Administer medications, treatments, and supportive care services
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and follow-up care
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and changes in condition
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC EMR
- Collaborate with physicians, oncology staff, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety standards
- Deliver patient care with minimal orientation and supervision
