About The Position
Seeking an experienced RN – 2S Renal to provide specialized nursing care within a 24-bed renal/medical-surgical unit focused on kidney disease and transplant patients. The RN will deliver evidence-based care, collaborate with nephrology and transplant teams, and support patients throughout the kidney transplant continuum.
Requirements
- Diploma in Nursing required
- Active Ohio RN License or Compact License required
- BLS Certification required
Nice To Haves
- Medical/Surgical or Renal nursing experience preferred
- Kidney transplant experience preferred
- Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred
- BSN preferred
- Renal/dialysis certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for renal, transplant, and medical/surgical patients
- Perform holistic patient assessments (physical, psychosocial, spiritual, educational)
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition
- Develop and implement individualized care plans with interdisciplinary teams
- Administer medications, treatments, and dialysis-related care
- Perform peritoneal dialysis (manual and cycler methods)
- Support kidney transplant and post-transplant care processes
- Use SBAR for standardized communication
- Participate in discharge planning and patient/family education
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards
- Float to other units as needed
- Provide remote telemetry monitoring support as required
