About The Position
The RN will provide specialized nursing care for renal and medical/surgical patients within a 24-bed Renal Unit specializing in kidney disease and kidney transplant care. The role includes delivering culturally competent, age-specific patient care while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams. This is a dynamic environment caring for both transplant and general med/surg patients.
Requirements
- Diploma in Nursing required
- Active Ohio RN License or Compact License required
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association required
- Strong communication and teamwork skills required
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse healthcare environment required
- Commitment to professional growth and continuing education required
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Provide age-specific and culturally competent nursing care and education
- Monitor and report patient condition changes
- Collaborate with nephrologists, transplant surgeons, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Maintain patient confidentiality and professional communication
- Participate in ongoing professional development and competency maintenance
- Support patients through kidney transplant and renal treatment processes
- Perform specialized renal nursing procedures including peritoneal dialysis
