About The Position

Players Health is seeking multiple Risk Advisors for their Youth & Amateur Sports team. This role involves providing risk management services and insurance products to sports organizations. The position emphasizes a consultative approach, leading with risk rather than policy, and utilizing a structured Sales Playbook, a proprietary client Risk Assessment Tool, and various sales enablement tools. The company is a high-growth, mission-driven sports technology platform focused on creating safer environments for athletes. The role requires continuous learning through AI-powered pitch practice and access to The Institutes Knowledge Group platform. Players Health operates in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where continuous improvement is valued.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of commercial insurance sales experience with a demonstrated track record of growing a book of business OR 5+ years sales experience with demonstrated track record of growing a book of business
  • Active Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance license, in good standing
  • Demonstrated success in a quota-carrying, high-activity sales role with clear, measurable results
  • Working knowledge of General Liability (GL) lines and commercial insurance products
  • Prior experience developing and executing a sales strategy to consistently meet or exceed targets
  • Proficiency with agency CRM/AMS (Applied Epic, preferred), or comparable sales and customer management platforms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal presence and negotiation ability
  • Demonstrated resilience and ability to adapt - comfortable in fast-paced, high-change environments
  • Demonstrated ability to follow process and procedures, and to identify where improvements should be made
  • Organizational discipline and strong attention to detail, including a genuine commitment to accurate and timely data entry
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity - motivated by contributing to solutions, not just working around problems

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

  • 7+ years of insurance industry experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business, Sales, or a related field
  • Experience selling insurance specifically to sports organizations - clubs, leagues, associations, or national governing bodies — and existing relationships within the space
  • Familiarity with the youth and/or amateur sports landscape as a professional, former athlete, coach, administrator, or volunteer

Responsibilities

  • Lead with risk using the client Risk Assessment Platform and a consultative approach to help sports organizations understand their exposure, build safety programs, and select appropriate protection.
  • Prospect, source, and develop new relationships with sports organizations, clubs, leagues, associations, and governing bodies in the youth and amateur sports market.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the youth and amateur sports landscape, including trends, key organizations, and evolving risks.
  • Build and manage a pipeline using CRM/AMS (Applied Epic) and sales enablement tools, creating sales reports and projections.
  • Own the full sales cycle: outreach, discovery, risk assessment presentation, proposal, negotiation, and close.
  • Cross-sell and upsell Players Health’s suite of insurance products and risk management services.
  • Continuously develop advanced product and market knowledge to differentiate Players Health.
  • Meet and exceed structured KPI targets and revenue quotas quarterly.
  • Establish deep, trusted relationships with sports administrators, risk managers, and decision-makers to improve organization and athlete safety.
  • Educate clients and prospects on insurance, risk management, and athlete safety, positioning Players Health as a long-term partner.
  • Provide excellent ongoing service through responsiveness, accuracy, and proactive communication.
  • Maximize renewals and retention through consistent client engagement.
  • Communicate cross-functionally to ensure service, programs, and operations teams can execute for clients.
  • Own the full client lifecycle, including policy issuance, managing policy changes, and managing cancellations.
  • Review insurance applications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Accurately maintain all prospect, client, and deal activity in the AMS and internal systems.
  • Follow the established sales playbook while identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Participate in weekly AI-powered pitch practice sessions.
  • Leverage The Institutes Knowledge Group platform and internally hosted Learning Labs for ongoing education.
  • Contribute to a team-oriented sales culture by sharing best practices and supporting colleagues.
  • Partner with Marketing and Account Management to create market-facing content and campaigns that drive pipeline.
  • Contribute to building a high-accountability, collaborative, and mission-driven sales culture.
  • Embody Players Health core values in all interactions.
  • Travel occasionally for client/prospect visits, team events, industry conferences, or collaboration.
