About the position

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Mission Technologies Division (HII-MT) is seeking a qualified candidate for RF Test Engineer, Radar Systems. The RF Test Engineer performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of the total system product to include: test, installation, operation. Properly employs test assets in a highly dynamic and controlled customer-driven test. Performs functional analysis and timeline analysis. The engineer will present a deep understanding of testing philosophies and methodologies within an agile test environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Conduct RF chain analysis and radar system performance analysis.
  • Execute all aspects of test execution.
  • Support technical publications in developing test planning, test procedures, and test reports.
  • Support technical and functional leadership through the identification of risk.
  • Provide hands-on test, integration, and verification support across lab facilities.

Requirements

  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; or 0 years experience with Masters in related field.
  • Interest in either Radar or Electronic Warfare System design and/or testing.
  • Experience with RF test support equipment both lab and in-field use, including Spectrum Analyzer and Signal Generators.
  • Basic understanding of the hazards associated with RF radiation.
  • Willingness to travel for extended periods of time, typically lasting between two and three weeks.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work outside in adverse weather conditions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Interest in EW and Radar Signal Processing Techniques.
  • Experience with Sensor System Integration and Test.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Warfare and Radar Performance Analysis Tools such as MATLAB.
