About the position

The Revenue Recognition Manager at Cushman & Wakefield is a critical role responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of revenue recognition reporting for transactional service lines across assigned geographic regions. This position supports the creation of the Global Revenue Center of Excellence (CoE) and acts as a subject matter expert for various service lines, including Advisory, Brokerage, and Valuation & Advisory. The manager will collaborate with key stakeholders, provide input on complex contract reviews, troubleshoot issues, and develop system improvements while working closely with senior finance members and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze revenue-generating contracts and determine their impact on the company's results.
  • Arbitrate on complex contract reviews with operations teams and global finance counterparts.
  • Ensure revenue is recorded in accordance with contractual terms and review monthly revenue transactions for accuracy.
  • Manage the internal and external audit process and provide leadership to the revenue recognition team.
  • Lead the team in mitigating internal control weaknesses and ensure effective internal controls are in place.
  • Manage and develop a team of Revenue Recognition Accountants and the Finance Service Center team.
  • Perform month-end reviews of revenue to ensure accurate P&L statements for each service line and region.
  • Ensure compliance with revenue accounting policies and drive process improvements in line with GAAP changes.
  • Deliver training support on complex accounting topics to various stakeholders.
  • Actively seek opportunities to increase efficiencies and establish stability.

Requirements

  • B.A. in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA qualified preferred.
  • 5+ years of post-qualified experience in accounting, finance, or accounts receivable.
  • Prior people management experience.
  • Knowledge of billing/cash application systems or equivalent platforms.
  • Familiarity with the Real Estate Industry, including leasing documents and broker contracts (preferred).
  • Knowledge of compliance with Revenue Regulations (ASC 606) and commission controls.
  • Strong written, comprehension, and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with financial systems such as Workday, Salesforce Engage, HFM, SAP, or Essbase.
  • Experience with large data visualization tools and preparation of summary reports.
  • Familiarity with document reader and automation tools like UIPath and Indico.
