About the position

The Retrofill Team Leader at Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is responsible for leading a team of engineers in the Switchgear Modernization division. This role involves overseeing the design and manufacturing of custom solutions for Low Voltage and Medium Voltage equipment modernization, ensuring compliance with IEEE and UL standards, and prioritizing customer experience to drive business growth. The leader will also manage engineering functions, interface with customers, and ensure adherence to safety policies while fostering employee development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers and provide oversight and direction to core engineering teams located in various locations.
  • Plan and manage electrical and mechanical engineering, drafting, and CAD standards for product lines.
  • Manage the definition and design of products in accordance with IEEE and UL standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies in shop and field environments.
  • Act as a senior technical resource for product engineering continuous improvements.
  • Interface with customers to communicate problems and solutions while maintaining quality standards.
  • Assess, train, and develop employees within the team.
  • Review bills of materials, submittal drawings, and assembly drawings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or engineering technology) from an accredited institution.
  • Three to five years of engineering experience in a service or engineering unit interacting with customers.
  • Ability to work in the US without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with low voltage and medium voltage breakers across all manufacturers of power distribution equipment.
  • Experience working with AutoDesk Inventor, Pro-E, or SolidWorks.
