About The Position

This is a hybrid position based at our corporate office in Brentwood, TN, with on-site work required Monday through Wednesday. The Retirement Plan Manager administers end-to-end retirement plan operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant execution of all plan processes. This role serves as the primary resource for NDT and audits, and ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations governing qualified retirement plans, including ERISA, IRS, and DOL requirements. The manager acts as the program owner for retirement plans, providing overall governance, operational oversight, and alignment with organizational strategy and plan design intent. They partner with external vendors, including recordkeepers and consultants, to ensure effective service delivery, issue resolution, and ongoing performance management. Collaboration with internal stakeholders such as HR and Payroll is crucial for accurate data exchange, consistent processes, and effective retirement plan administration. The role leads retirement plan design changes, system enhancements, and implementation initiatives, and manages retirement governance activities, including committee support, reporting, documentation, and preparation of materials. Additionally, the manager serves as an escalation point for complex participant issues and drives continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; equivalent experience and/or training may be considered.
4–7 years of experience in retirement plan administration.
Comprehensive knowledge of qualified and nonqualified retirement plan administration, including 401(k) structures and related regulatory frameworks (ERISA, IRS, DOL).
Strong understanding of retirement plan compliance, governance, fiduciary principles, and operational risk management.
Strong analytical skills to interpret plan data and resolve complex issues.
Ability to manage vendors and coordinate external retirement service providers.
Effective communication and collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to independently manage a complex retirement program and drive process improvements.

Responsibilities

Administers end-to-end retirement plan operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant execution of all plan processes, including eligibility, contributions, distributions, reporting, and recordkeeping integrity.
Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations governing qualified retirement plans, including ERISA, IRS, and DOL requirements, and implements regulatory updates into plan operations and documentation.
Serves as program owner for retirement plans, providing overall governance, operational oversight, and alignment with organizational strategy and plan design intent.
Partners with external vendors, including recordkeepers, and consultants, to ensure effective service delivery, issue resolution, and ongoing performance management.
Collaborates with internal stakeholders including but not limited to HR and Payroll to ensure accurate data exchange, consistent processes, and effective retirement plan administration.
Leads retirement plan design changes, system enhancements, and implementation initiatives, ensuring successful execution and clear cross-functional communication.
Manages retirement governance activities, including committee support, reporting, documentation, and preparation of materials to support decision-making and oversight.
Serves as escalation point for complex participant issues and drives continuous improvement efforts, including process optimization, communication support, and moderately complex retirement-related projects.
