About the position

The Retirement Plan Executive role at Sentry involves generating retirement plan sales from companies outside of Sentry's core focus markets. The position aims to achieve growth, retention, and profitability objectives within a defined geographical area. The executive will collaborate with leadership to develop effective prospecting strategies and manage a sales pipeline for 401(k) products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Generate retirement plan sales from companies outside of Sentry's core focus markets.
  • Achieve growth, retention, and profitability objectives in a defined geographical area.
  • Collaborate with Life and Annuities leadership to determine prospecting approaches.
  • Create, monitor, and revise lead generation plans to ensure a substantive sales opportunity pipeline.
  • Identify and directly prospect plan sponsors to present and sell Sentry's 401(k) products and services.
  • Facilitate the generation of retirement plan interest from plan sponsors through fact finds and final presentations.
  • Generate personal sales production of retirement plan products through direct contacts with prospects.
  • Conduct group and individual retirement plan enrollment and education meetings.
  • Conduct employer service calls to review plan design, compliance, testing, plan health, and participant retirement readiness.
  • Provide input to the development of product innovation, sales ideas, marketing materials, and sales training programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of related work experience in B2B or retirement plan industry or financial/retirement plan sales.
  • Proven ability to prospect 401(k) sales opportunities via phone.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and listening skills.
  • Current license to sell life insurance products or ability to obtain one.
  • Proficient in using a retirement plan customer relationship management system (Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Proficient in PC software applications such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to meet travel demands and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of 401(k) products and familiarity with plan design & testing.
  • Poised public speaker with proven ability to engage diverse audiences.
