About the position
The Retail Team Leader plays a crucial role in providing an exemplary customer experience at Goodwill. This position involves overseeing store operations, ensuring a clean and inviting atmosphere, and delivering outstanding customer service. The Retail Team Leader is responsible for managing store activities in the absence of higher management and training staff to maintain operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Opening and/or closing the store, ensuring it is open during posted hours of operation and securing the premises after hours.
- Overseeing store operations in the absence of the manager and assistant manager, reporting any issues that arise.
- Training and evaluating store employees and/or persons served when applicable.
- Correcting EBT errors as needed.
- Counting down cash drawers and ensuring all cash and deposits are secured in the safe.
- Accepting donated items in a safe, courteous, and efficient manner according to store guidelines.
- Processing donated items to produce inventory for the sales floor.
- Following store procedures for cashiering, customer service, merchandise handling, and upkeep.
Requirements
- At least two years of prior retail sales experience, with opening/closing responsibilities preferred.
- Demonstrated ability in the use of cash register and affiliated duties, such as giving correct change.
