About the position
At Optimum, we are seeking enthusiastic professionals to join our team as First-Line Supervisors of Retail Sales Workers. This role is pivotal in building and creating partnerships with our customers, acting as the face of the Optimum brand. As a brand ambassador, you will be responsible for ensuring that customers feel welcome and supported throughout their store journey. Your role will involve guiding customers, maintaining accurate inventory, and ensuring that our stores are clean and inviting, all while fostering brand relationships that encourage repeat visits. In this position, you will leverage your strong understanding of technology, particularly our products and services, to support both the front and back of the store. You will be actively involved in customer interactions, identifying sales opportunities, and connecting customers with sales consultants during peak times. Additionally, you will perform non-sales customer service transactions, such as equipment returns and order fulfillment, ensuring a seamless experience for our customers. As an in-store expert for mobile support, you will provide post-sales assistance, helping customers with device data transfers and account setups. You will also assist Store Leadership with inventory and merchandising responsibilities, ensuring that the back of the store is clean, secure, and well-stocked. Your ability to adapt to management priorities while demonstrating professionalism and integrity will be crucial in this role. Responsibilities
- Provides strong understanding and enthusiasm for technology, especially company products and services and is a go-to resource who supports the store team in the front and back of the store.
- Constantly scans the sales floor to ensure counters, devices, accessories and walkways are accessible, clean and functioning, and reports to leadership when exceptions are found.
- Greets customers during peak times, identifying sales opportunities and connecting customers to sales consultants in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates company technology to new customers to ensure they know the basics of Optimum services.
- Performs non-sales customer service transactions including equipment returns and swaps, and customer pick up for 'buy-online-pick-up' in-store order fulfillment.
- Serves as an in-store expert for Mobile support, providing post-sales support for device data transfers and phone number ports.
- Supports the onboarding of a Mobile customer, assisting with online account setup, data transfer, and mobile device education.
- Assists Store Leadership in Inventory and Merchandising responsibilities, frequently checking and inspecting the back of the store for clean, secure, and appropriately placed inventory.
- Conducts the weekly cycle count process and looks for opportunities to improve the store count process.
- Suggests improvements that enhance the customer and/or store experience, readily adjusting to store management priorities.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year of work experience
- Willing to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings, weekends and holidays
- Role is overtime eligible
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must be able to carry and lift up to 25 pound boxes
- Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Continually moving in different positions in a retail setting to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
- Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to access products/boxes
