About the position

The Retail Sales Associate position at Flowers Baking Company is a part-time role focused on providing excellent customer service while managing various retail tasks. The associate will be responsible for stocking shelves, operating the cash register, assisting customers, and performing inventory checks. This role requires physical stamina and flexibility in scheduling, as it includes working weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Stock shelves and ensure product availability.
  • Run the cash register and handle cash transactions.
  • Assist customers with inquiries and purchases.
  • Check in Independent Distributor's sales.
  • Make bank deposits and obtain change as needed.
  • Count down the cash drawer at the end of shifts.
  • Price items using a pricing gun.
  • Learn to open and close the store independently.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly inventory checks, which may require staying after shifts.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds throughout the day.
  • Willingness to travel to other stores periodically.
  • Good mathematical skills for cash handling and inventory management.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and stoop for extended periods.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous retail experience is preferred.
  • Flexible schedule or open availability.
