About the position

The Front End Supervisor at TJ Maxx is responsible for ensuring an excellent customer experience at the front of the store. This role involves overseeing a team of associates, promoting customer loyalty programs, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. The supervisor leads by example, engages with customers, and addresses any concerns promptly, while also training and mentoring associates in customer service principles.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a positive customer experience and maintain a clean store environment.
  • Oversee a team of associates at the front of the store, ensuring prompt and courteous service.
  • Engage with customers and model outstanding customer service.
  • Train and mentor associates on front end principles and customer experience personalization.
  • Assign registers and coordinate breaks for associates, responding to POS coverage needs.
  • Address customer concerns promptly to ensure a positive experience.
  • Ensure associates execute tasks according to store plans and prioritize as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with management and associates regarding priorities and progress updates.
  • Provide recognition and constructive feedback to associates.
  • Partner with management on training needs for associates to enhance effectiveness.
  • Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Promote credit and loyalty programs and support shrink reduction goals.
  • Maintain a safe environment and promote safety awareness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1 year of retail experience
  • 6 months of leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of merchandising techniques
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations
  • Team player with the ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors
  • Ability to train others
