About the position

The Restaurant Supervisor at Hyatt Washington D.C. Convention Center is responsible for overseeing the operational efforts and strategies of all kitchen outlets, ensuring high-quality food service and effective team management. This role requires a passion for service, strong leadership skills, and the ability to train and guide kitchen and restaurant staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences for both internal guests and event attendees.

Responsibilities

• Direct the operational efforts and strategies of all kitchen outlets.
• Supervise the entire kitchen staff, including restaurant, lounge, banquet, and sanitation associates.
• Train associates in proper food production techniques, seasoning, plate presentation, and sanitation.
• Assist in writing schedules, evaluating associates, and directing personnel.
• Maintain open communication between management and associates.
• Write and present disciplinary actions as needed.
• Provide associates with necessary tools and equipment for their jobs.
• Address problems encountered in the kitchen or restaurant immediately.
• Participate in weekly staff meetings and monthly kitchen inventory.
• Ensure all food served is of high quality and properly prepared.

Requirements

• Experience in a supervisory position within full-service restaurants.
• Knowledge of beverage cost and sequence of service.
• Hands-on attitude with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Micros experience is a plus.
