About the position

Perkins Restaurant is now hiring Servers for our Perkins Restaurant in Brookings. The position involves providing friendly and efficient service in a timely manner to guests according to company policies, procedures, programs, and performance standards. The server is expected to show genuine hospitality while providing guests with a memorable experience, maintaining a professional appearance, and demonstrating a positive, friendly attitude.

Responsibilities

• Greets guests in a courteous and respectable way when seated at station.
• Welcomes guests immediately upon seating with a non-scripted greeting.
• Offers menu suggestions, answers questions, and anticipates guests’ needs using acquired menu knowledge.
• Checks completed food orders for accuracy, appearance, and temperature, and delivers to the table immediately.
• Engages guests with genuine hospitality and remedies any concerns.
• Maintains cleanliness of tables, pantry line area, and dining room common areas.
• Performs side work during shift downtime including rolling silverware, restocking cleaning workstations, and bussing tables.
• Communicates with Manager on Duty and coworkers regarding product/service deficiencies and safety problems.
• Writes guest checks and/or operates POS equipment pursuant to company policies.
• Restocks service station with glasses, tea, ice, and plates.
• Maintains cleanliness of dining room and pantry area.
