About the position
The Restaurant Manager is a leadership role responsible for overseeing daily operations, enhancing guest relations, and managing front-of-house staff in a chef-driven restaurant. This position requires a strong focus on business performance, financial goals, and maintaining high service standards while fostering a positive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily restaurant operations and ensure efficient business performance.
- Develop and maintain guest relations to enhance customer experience.
- Manage front-of-house staff and maintain service levels.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and BOH team to ensure high-quality guest experiences.
- Achieve financial goals and manage resources effectively.
Requirements
- 2+ years of upscale-casual restaurant management experience, preferably in chef-driven restaurants.
- Strong experience running a beverage program including beer, wine, and spirits.
- Sommelier Certification and Cicerone Certification are preferred.
- Strong understanding of hospitality standards and dining service with attention to detail.
- Proficient in recipe knowledge, service standards, sanitation practices, and FOH/BOH management functions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with effective delegation and accountability.
- Solid understanding of IT and experience with POS systems.
- Proficient in word processing and Excel, and financial management (P&L's, inventory, food/labor cost).
- Serv-Safe Certification in California.
Nice-to-haves
- Bi-lingual skills and social media knowledge are a plus.
