Capital Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join their team. This role involves establishing and managing various forms of mechanical ventilation, performing weaning mechanics, and developing ventilator care plans. The therapist will also collect specimens, perform diagnostic testing such as blood gas analysis, and interpret diagnostic and monitoring data. They will integrate patient data to create sound care plans consistent with department standards, manage time effectively, and perform thorough cardiopulmonary clinical assessments. The position requires administering basic and advanced respiratory therapeutic interventions, responding to medical emergencies like Code Blue and RRT, and providing patient and family education. The therapist will communicate effectively with healthcare team members, assist colleagues, and participate in training and orientation. They will apply departmental protocols and clinical practice guidelines, and quickly learn new techniques and procedures. The role also includes understanding and participating in Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives, accurately documenting data for QI processes, and adhering to organizational standards.
