About the position

The position involves providing assessment, treatment, care, education, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies. The role is critical in ensuring that patients receive appropriate respiratory care and support throughout their treatment process.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis.
• Implements and monitors patient care plan.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Performs advanced respiratory care modalities.
• Evaluates respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes.
• Educates the patient and family about the illness, medication, and provides information about community support groups and other available programs.
• Responds to emergency resuscitation team calls.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy required upon hire OR Associate's degree or higher in related field required upon hire.
• A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• No experience required.
• RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist with the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required upon hire.
• RCP - Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Kentucky required upon hire.
• BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 45 days of employment in this position.
