About the position

The Respiratory Therapist in the Respiratory Care Services department encompasses responsibility for administering respiratory care within the scope of practice under a physician's order, including, but not limited to, all types of oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, ECG's, and mechanical ventilation of adult/geriatric patients. The therapist plans, implements, and evaluates the effectiveness of therapy, with communication to the physician and health care team. The staff Therapist understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, vision, and values in the management of patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Administer respiratory care under a physician's order.
  • Provide oxygen therapy and aerosol therapy.
  • Manage advanced airway procedures.
  • Perform arterial puncture and analysis.
  • Conduct ECG's and mechanical ventilation for adult/geriatric patients.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy.
  • Communicate effectively with the physician and health care team.

Requirements

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist Required
  • NC Respiratory Care Practitioner Required
  • Basic Life Support Required
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Required
  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy Required
  • 1 Year Clinical Experience in Respiratory Therapy

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Clinical - Emergency/Trauma preferred
