About the position

The position involves performing routine and intensive therapy and diagnostic procedures related to respiratory care. The individual will maintain respiratory equipment and ensure that ventilator and life support equipment are operational. Responsibilities include providing routine respiratory patient assessments and performing some invasive procedures such as arterial blood gases (ABGs). The role also includes assisting with intubation as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain respiratory equipment.
  • Ensure ventilator and life support equipment are operable.
  • Provide routine respiratory patient assessment.
  • Perform invasive procedures such as ABGs.
  • Assist with intubation.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed by the State of Texas to perform Respiratory Care under the guidelines of the Respiratory Care Practitioners Act.
  • Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
  • High School diploma, GED or Higher Education required.
  • Completion of an accredited Respiratory Program and eligibility through the N.B.R.C.
  • At least one year clinical experience in all modes of respiratory care.
  • Currently licensed by the state of Texas.
  • Must have and maintain a current BCLS certification.
  • Must have and maintain a current ACLS certification.
  • PALS and NRP certifications within six months of hire date.
