About the position
The respiratory therapist in Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation will provide assessment, treatment and education of cardiac and pulmonary patients and their families. They are responsible for development of exercise prescription, monitoring the patient's response to exercise and recovery and overseeing exercise progression as outlined by the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab clinical guidelines and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide assessment and treatment of cardiac and pulmonary patients.
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions.
- Develop exercise prescriptions for patients.
- Monitor patients' responses to exercise and recovery.
- Oversee exercise progression according to clinical guidelines.
Requirements
- Graduate of AMA-approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist by the NBRC.
- BLS certification required.
- Current knowledge of intensive care and neonatal intensive care including EKG, ABG, spirometry, and oximetry.
