About the position

Under limited supervision, administers therapeutic treatments prescribed by attending medical staff. Records treatment information and patient's treatment response in the medical record. Manages and maintains life support equipment. Trains and mentors peers, and serves as a resource for others.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as an education resource person for new employees and students.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems regarding respiratory therapy equipment.
  • Participates in specialized core unit training programs to promote the enhanced proficiency of specialized populations, e.g., NICU-Perinatal, PICU/CVICU/ED, Adult Specialty Areas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (or higher) from an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
  • 3-5 years of experience.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued from National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) issued from Oklahoma State Medical Board.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ALS) - American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association (AHA) OR NRP Provider Card (7th or 8th Edition) - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
