About the position

The Respiratory Clinical Team Manager (RCTM) is a professional Registered Respiratory Care practitioner who leads under the direction of the Respiratory Care Director. The RCTM is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily operations of the respiratory department, including patient care and clinic/unit business processes. As part of the UAMS Respiratory Care leadership team, the RCTM provides expertise as a consultant, educator, clinician, and role model promoting the development of professional standards and improvement of quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates effective analytical abilities to identify department needs that require intervention and/or revision.
  • Serves as a liaison with Director and Administration, exchanging information and identifying problems or needs related to clinical activity.
  • Maintains awareness of departmental status and potential problems by functioning as a working supervisor.
  • Participates as a team member, supporting clinical and administrative peers in the performance of their duties.
  • Communicates accurately, clearly, and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Participates in regular monthly staff meetings to promote communication and conduct problem solving/planning.
  • Promotes positive interaction with the medical staff. Investigates physician inquiries and provides responses.
  • Provides Resident and Medical Student orientation and guidance as appropriate.
  • Demonstrates an ability to create an atmosphere and conditions which foster motivation of employees to work at optimal efficiency.
  • Interacts with, and assists, the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree
  • Three (3) years of experience in the field of Respiratory Care
  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license; Must be a current Arkansas Licensed Respiratory Therapy Practitioner (LRCP)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Adult Critical Care Specialty in Respiratory Care
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), ACCS
