About the position

The Residential Treatment Team Director at New Directions Youth & Family Services, Inc. is a leadership role focused on overseeing the daily operations of residential services for youth in care. This position is essential for ensuring high-quality care and fostering a therapeutic environment. The director will mentor and manage a dedicated team, collaborate with community partners, and implement trauma-informed care practices. The role emphasizes youth advocacy and aims to create a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Youth Support Specialist Supervisors.
  • Provide direction for the overall residential programming in collaboration with the Residential Treatment Team Supervisor.
  • Collaborate with intake coordinator, treatment team, and CSE family facilitator to review youth referrals and participate in the intake process as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the Recreation Program and support the Life skills component of the program.
  • Responsible for administrative duties in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including managing interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
  • Train new employees and provide in-service training for experienced employees in areas such as agency policy and department procedures.
  • Partner within an interdisciplinary management team to provide consistent and professional communication to all departments and staff.
  • Serve as the Justice Center liaison and administrative reviewer for physical interventions.
  • Assist agency staff members in analyzing case problems and improving their assessment and intervention skills.
  • Review case records and have oversight of physical intervention logs.
  • Participate in the program's administrative meetings for policy development and monitoring.
  • Assist in the development of program policies leading to C.O.A. accreditation and program clarity.
  • Counsel youth individually or in groups and in emergencies as needed.
  • Ensure program compliance with C.O.A. standards and relevant regulations.
  • Serve as an administrative liaison to ensure positive communication with the Department of Social Services and community partners.
  • Monitor new literature and developments in congregate care services and juvenile justice.
  • Apprise the C.O.O. of significant developments regarding critical incidents, youth, and personnel needs.
  • Assume a pivotal role in committees and task forces as necessary.
  • Participate in PQI activities to assess for continuous quality improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop and maintain a sustainable annual budget.
  • Maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and First Aid/CPR certification provided by the agency.
  • Attend all mandatory in-service training and supervision meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field (required).
  • Knowledge of Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice systems (required).
  • Previous supervisory experience in a similar setting (required).
  • Master's degree in Social Work (preferred).
  • CPR Certification (required).
  • First Aid Certification (required).
  • Valid Driver's License (required).

Nice-to-haves

  • Licensed Master's in Social Work degree (M.S.W.) from an accredited school of social work (preferred).
  • Experience in program administration.
