About the position

The Residential Support Relief staff position at Bay Cove Human Services involves providing direct care services to adults with developmental disabilities. The role focuses on promoting independent living skills and enhancing the quality of life for individuals in the Growthways program. This is a full-time, non-exempt position that requires adherence to clinical and programmatic protocols while engaging individuals in daily activities and community integration.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care services to adults with developmental disabilities.
• Promote the development of independent and community living skills.
• Teach and reinforce activities of daily living and household duties.
• Implement and develop program activities to reinforce and develop skills.
• Maintain a consistent daily routine and actively engage individuals in challenging activities.
• Complete daily documentation including progress notes and communication logs.
• Perform household and property maintenance tasks for the residence.
• Handle financial transactions and document receipts accurately.
• Implement Positive Behavior Support (PBS) techniques and treatment plans.
• Drive agency vehicle to provide transportation for individuals as needed.

Requirements

• Six months of full-time paid or volunteer experience in human services or one year part-time experience.
• GED or High School Diploma required.
• CPR & First Aid certification required (must obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to walk up and down stairs and provide emergency physical intervention as needed.

Nice-to-haves

• Department of Public Health certification in medication administration (preferred).
• MAP certification (preferred for higher pay).
• Certified in Safety Care (required at some programs).
